One of my all time favorite fish to catch are Sturgeon. Last year I got the chance to tangle with my largest lake Sturgeon to date. It was a 90 plus pound fish that took over 45 mins to get in.That night capped off one of my best days in the outdoors. The reason I say that is because that morning I was in the marsh guiding on a youth hunt. It was just one of those days that I am sure I will not forget. The time spent in the marsh and the time spent on the St. Clair.
If you have never seen or fished for sturgeon before you really should give it a try. These fish can live for over a 100 years. This is the only fish that 4 to 5 generation of a family could catch the same fish in the span of it’s life.Groups like the varies Sturgeon for Tomorrow groups are doing a great job protecting and showing the public just how neat this fossil fish are.
