]]>The next morning revealed a splendor of beauty I could only imagine. When I am out hunting I call it “God’s Country”, and this truly was. I had amazing excitement and could not wait to get out on the slopes. Riding is such a freeing experience and I wasn’t sure what to expect here. I didn’t see any new snow on the ground in town, and I started to have my doubts as to whether this would be any good. I could have stayed home and ridden 3 feet of fresh powder. As we drove up the hill towards Brundage ski resort, it still didn’t look anymore appealing. It was after we parked, and loaded up the sleds with our food, and threw on our backpacks, that I knew this would be a fun day.
The sights from the trail were magnificent, and the riding was even better. Fresh powder surrounded us and I have never had such an enjoyable time. The guys in the group found some great hill climbs and some nice bowls to ride in. They also found a few trees to boondock threw. The skies were blue and we could not have asked for a more perfect day. My friend Christi and I spent a lot of time in a large open area, carving around in nice untouched fresh powder. It was great.
Later in the day, we stopped for a quick bite to eat and watched Mike get stuck on a hill. We watched him struggle for a while trying to get his sled out, but was unable to do it, so the troops headed in to help. There were many of those times trying to get the guys out. We let them work and us girls watched and laughed. They were having a great time regardless of what was happening around them.
After several hours of riding and very little fuel left, we made out way back to the truck and loaded up for the day. We had a really good dinner at the Mill Steakhouse. If you have never tried it, it is a must. Good atmosphere and fun help there too.
