I received Kiwi Camp water repellent to try, and I went out and bought a new pair of Danner leather boots. I followed the directions on the bottle, which were very easy. I let the boots dry for 48 hours and then I went out in the mud and rain for a hike. The boots stayed very dry; they even had lots of little water beads all over that never soaked into the leather.
Not only did it work, the product was odorless after the silicone cured. I think if I really wanted to make sure it continued to repel water, I would treat my shoes and garments a few times.
