About

I live in Oregon and my husband is an avid hunter. He was raised to hunt, because it was a means of food for his family. He loves the sport and I loved to hear his stories. I grew up in California where we didn’t even own a gun. It was all new to me, but I knew if I ever wanted to see my husband from the months of August to May, I better learn to hunt. I started off shooting a bow, we shot down at the archery shop, and then we started shooting 3-D shoots. I really enjoyed the shoots, but thought I was ready to start hunting. I didn’t get a deer the first couple years of hunting, but then after that I started doing really well. Now, I really enjoy hunting deer, elk, coyotes, cougar (but haven’t gotten one yet), ducks, and upland game birds. I am going to be turkey hunting this year for the first time. We could never find anywhere to hunt them, but now we have a few spots. I am looking forward to that.

My dream would be to hunt whitetail deer, caribou, wolf, hogs, red stag, and African plains game. When we aren’t hunting we are out riding our ATV’s, snowmobiling, clay shooting, or just doing something generally outdoors.

If any of you are ever this way, please get in touch. I am always looking for other women to hunt with and love to help others get involved in hunting. I am a field staff shooter for The Bow Rack, Field Staff for SHE Safari, a field staff member for Pursue The Outdoors, a member of the High Desert Archers, Oregon Hunters Association, Women in the Outdoors, Mule Deer Foundation, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and Farmers and Hunters Feeding The Hungry.
